What’s the best way to deal with waste? (part 2)
About the video: ‘What’s the best way to deal with waste? (part 2)’
Paul Connett looks at case studies of successful zero waste operations around the world. These include a resource recovery park in Canberra, Australia (the first community ever to commit to zero waste). He then looks at how Nova Scotia creates well-paid jobs through recycling and remanufacturing initiatives. He also describes their state-of-the-art screening facility, enabling them to stabilize toxic residuals to prevent leaching. He then talks about Burlington’s Recycle North project in Vermont and how San Francisco has diverted as much as 63% of waste previously going to landfills. Write to Paul at paul@fluoridealert.org to request any of his own videos on zero waste.
