About the video: ‘What is the potential for renewable energy?’

Mike Eckhart takes a candid look at the likely development of renewable energy going forward. He talks about the work that still needs to be done by organizations such as his, as the global economy continues its long-term transition away from oil. He predicts that renewables could form as much as 50% of the world’s energy supply in the future. Anything beyond this, however, will be extremely difficult to achieve. Among other factors, technology needs to advance to the point where we have a viable alternative to jet fuel.
