is ‘clean coal’ a good idea?
About the video: ‘is ‘clean coal’ a good idea?’
Chris Flavin acknowledges the need to clean up the global coal industry but does not see the process as being a full solution to climate change. Coal burning power stations should be allowed to bury CO2 underground. Ideally, all coal burning plants (accounting for around 35% of all electricity generated) should be retrofitted with the technology that would allow them to do this. But there are still unanswered questions as to the viability of ‘cleaner’ coal.
