About the video: ‘What are the risks with Genetic Modification?’

Interviewed on the very day biotech giant Bayer withdrew genetically modified Maize from the UK market, former Environment Minister Michael Meacher MP airs his views on genetic modification. He begins by explaining why he is not against the technology per se, but that when it comes to food GM technology is simply “too risky” to be adopted wholesale. Too little, he says, is known about the consequences it may or may not pose to human and environmental health.
