About the video: ‘what are the roots of terrorism? (Part two)’
Majid Tehranian explains how advanced communications are creating a global consciousness with regards to the causes of terrorism. The events of 9/11 showed that what happens in Afghanistan can impact people in New York City and vice versa. Our fates are intertwined and we are increasingly inter-dependent. This awareness imposes upon us a shared sense of responsibility as global citizens. Cultural lags may develop where governments and other institutions have been slow to respond. But Professor Tehranian is hopeful that the internet, with its educational potential, will help close this gap.
