Is deregulation a good thing?
About the video: ‘Is deregulation a good thing?’
In the US, the attitude of government towards controlling corporations changes from administration to administration. Periods of greater or lesser regulation result. Schlosser believes that the recent trend in deregulation went too far and is hopeful that it is now at an end. It is time to reassess the degree to which corporations are allowed to do as they please. Schlosser believes in the effectiveness of corporations to produce desired products and services, but a new balance needs to be struck between the interests of the corporation and the population. They are not always the same.
