About the video: ‘Do cities need trees?’

Andy Lipkis explains why trees are so important to the 21st century urban infrastructure. Trees are basic survival tools in an era of increased climate change. Their root ecosystems purify rainwater and feed vital aquifers. These are essential eco-system services that must be developed if cities are to cope with more frequent, and perhaps more extreme, floods and droughts.
