About the video: ‘What will future urbanization look like?’

As of 2007, the world’s population became predominantly urban. Taipale looks at the future of urban development and discusses how new cities could be designed. She expresses hope that the car won’t define the shape of future urban environments and that urban planners learn from the mistakes of the past. Public transport, sustainable water and waste management and low-carbon energy solutions are all part of the answer. All we need is political will.
