John Cavanagh is the Director of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC (since 1998). Formerly an economist with UNCTAD and the WHO, he co-founded the International Forum on Globalization in 1995. He also sits on the executive committees of the US-based Alliance for Responsible Trade and the Citizens Trade Campaign. He is the co-author of numerous books and articles on globalisation, corporate accountability and international labour rights, including Development Redefined: How the Market Met Its Match, written with Robin Broad.
