Bruce Sterling is a science fiction author and journalist, best known for having helped define the cyberpunk genre in the 1980s. He is the founder of Viridian, an online community promoting high-tech, stylish and ecologically-sound design. He has written a novel about climate change called ‘Heavy Weather’ (1995) and his design manifesto, entitled ‘Shaping Things’, has recently been published by MIT Press. He is a regular contributor to Wired Magazine.
