Bruce Sterling is a science fiction author and journalist, best known for having helped define the cyberpunk genre in the 1980s. He is the founder of Viridian, an online community promoting high-tech, stylish and ecologically-sound design. He has written a novel about climate change called Heavy Weather (1995) and a design manifesto, Shaping Things. He is a regular contributor to Wired Magazine.
