A former director of the United Nations Environment Programme, Ashok Khosla founded Development Alternatives, a Delhi-based NGO devoted to promoting commercially viable, environmentally benign technologies. He has served as an advisor to the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme and the Indian government.
