Amy Goodman is an American broadcast journalist, author and documentary film-maker. She has received dozens of awards for her work, including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and the George Polk Award for exposing human rights violations in East Timor and the Right Livelihood Award in 2008 "...for developing an innovative model of truly independent political journalism that brings to millions of people the alternative voices that are often excluded by mainstream media." . She currently hosts the daily independent news program, Democracy Now!.
