Human Rights Campaigner from Nigeria

Hafsat Abiola is a human and civil rights campaigner. She is founder of the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy, which seeks to strengthen civil society and promote democracy in Nigeria. She is the daughter of the late Chief Moshood Abiola, President Elect of Nigeria, who died in prison in 1995. Honours received by Mrs Abiola-Costello include the State of the World Forum Changemaker Award in 1998, the World Economic Forum’s Global Leader of Tomorrow Award in 2000 and the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation Global Award in 2001.
Since May 2008 she is also a Councilor at the World Future Council
