Dr. Scilla Elworthy founded the Oxford Research Group, an independent NGO that seeks to develop effective national and international conflict resolution. She Founded ORG in 1982 and currently sits on the Board of Trustees. She is the former Executive Director of Peace Direct. She was awarded the Niwano Peace Prize in 2003 and has been nominated three times for the Nobel Peace Prize. She is an internationally recognized figure in the field of conflict resolution, particularly for her focus on non-violence.
